Project brief

Plan an investigation that compares the slipping angle of two different surfaces using equipment available in an ordinary classroom.

Required steps

1. Choose two surfaces you expect to behave differently and say why.
2. Describe how you will raise the ramp slowly and measure the angle at the moment of slipping.
3. Decide how many times you will repeat each measurement and how you will handle disagreement between repeats.
4. Predict which surface gives the larger slipping angle before you test anything.

Deliverables checklist

• A written plan naming both surfaces and the prediction.
• A method another student could follow without asking questions.
• A results table with space for repeated measurements.
• A conclusion that refers back to the prediction.
