How we look after your family’s data
Techvein teaches children robotics and AI one to one. To do that we keep a little about your child and about you. This page says exactly what, why, who sees it, where it is kept, for how long, and what you can do about it. Last updated 9 October 2026.
What we keep
- About your child
- Their name, the WhatsApp number their sign-in code goes to, their country and time zone.
- About you, the parents
- Up to two parents: name, relation, WhatsApp number, and an email address if you gave one.
- Your consent
- Who agreed to our terms for your child, when, and which version of the terms.
- What you bought
- The course, how many sessions, the sale or invoice reference, and the kit's delivery status and tracking number.
- Sessions
- When each session is, which lesson, the teacher, whether it was taught or missed, the teacher's short report, and who in the family pressed Join.
- Learning
- Lessons started and finished, your child's notebook, and the work and photos they hand in, with the teacher's reply.
What we don’t do
- We do not ask for your child's date of birth or school.
- We do not keep your home address in the portal: kits are shipped by our team from the sales record.
- We do not record sessions.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track your child across other websites.
- We do not keep sign-in codes after they are used.
Why we keep it
Only to teach your child: to run their sessions, show their progress, share the teacher’s reports with you, ship their kit, send you sign-in codes and session reminders, and answer your requests. We keep what the law needs us to keep for the sale itself; nothing else.
Who sees it
- Your child
- Their own lessons, notebook, hand-ins, sessions and progress.
- You, the parents
- Your child's sessions, progress, hand-ins and teachers' reports. Not their private notebook day to day (it is in the full copy you can download).
- Their teacher
- Your child's first name and time zone, the sessions they teach, who joined, and your child's hand-ins on their course.
- Our course coordinators
- Your family's details, to arrange sessions, kits and support.
- Our administrators
- Everything, to run the service and to carry out erasure requests. Every change is logged.
Nobody outside Techvein and the services below.
Where it goes
- Servers and file storage
- Akamai (Linode) cloud servers in Mumbai and file storage in Chennai, India. Connections are encrypted.
- Video sessions
- TatvaOS, Techvein's meeting service. A session's meeting shows the lesson, your child's first name and the teacher. Everyone waits to be let in, and a password is needed.
- WhatsApp messages
- Sent from Techvein's WhatsApp business number, through WhatsApp (Meta): sign-in codes, and session confirmations and reminders with your child's first name, the lesson, the time and the teacher.
How long we keep it
Until 24 months after your child’s last session, then we erase it. Earlier if you ask. Copies in our backups are removed as those backups expire.
What you can do
- See and download everything
- Sign in and open “Your data”: download a full copy, at any time.
- Correct something
- Write to us from the Sessions page, or tell your coordinator.
- Erase everything
- A parent asks from “Your data”. We erase your child's record, your details, sessions and work, and cancel any meetings booked.
- Withdraw consent
- Tell us, and sessions stop. Then ask for erasure if you want your data removed too.
Keeping it safe
- Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to your own WhatsApp number; no passwords to leak.
- Each session’s meeting has a waiting room and a password only your family sees.
- Each person in our team sees only what their job needs, and changes are logged.
- Photos you hand in open only as pictures; nothing uploaded can run in a browser.
Children
A parent or guardian agrees to our terms before any session. Teachers meet children only in our session meetings, with the family let in by the teacher, and do not contact children privately.
Changes
When we change this policy, the version and date above change. When the terms you agreed to change, we ask you again before the next session.
